Research
Mario Borrero joined the anthropology program at University of California, San Diego in 2014. After receiving a B.A. degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Riverside in 2011, he received his M.A. in Public Archaeology from California State University, Northridge in 2014. He is an archaeologist whose current work focuses on Maya sites from southern Belize, Toledo District during the Classic to Postclassic time periods, primarily at the site of Nim li Punit. His interests include the development of social complexity, lithic technology, domestic economies and the consumption/production decisions of people in the past. Mario uses several tools to investigate these issues including spatial (GIS), lithic, and geochemical analyses.
